Portrait Tips
Portraits can be and should be a fun and rewarding experience. I want to help you get the photos of your dreams. It's common to feel nervous and awkward in front of the camera, I want to help you relax and make you comfortable. I will always show you the pictures on my camera LCD screen so you can get an idea of what I am seeing. It's great to get portraits doing what you are passionate about as this helps bring out the real you and keeps you less aware of me the Photographer. I love to get you the client's input as well and am always happy to hear your ideas or suggestions.
Best to wear colors that compliment your face and skin tone.
Small prints can be O.K.
For Black and White portraits, solid colors are best.
For large groups similar colors usually look neater.
Ladies, shiny makeup will reflect and make you look shiny, so matte is better.
Feed the kids just before you come.
Spotless kids are nice, happy kids are better.
Bribing kids usually works well.
Sometimes a favorite stuffed animal can help the kids, though this "lovey" may turn up in all of your photos!
This is often a fun event, which is surprising to all involved, it's not as pinful as you think!!. Happy people make great photos, it's my job to keep you having fun and enjoying the moment.
